Teen Counseling
A large majority of us could probably look back on our teenage years and remember how difficult and uncomfortable those years were. When it comes to our teens, though, we often forget how tumultuous these years are.
We see our teenage clients in a light that is specific to the reality they are experiencing. Craving independence, it can often be hard for teenagers to connect with others. we work to cultivate a space of genuine understanding that allows teenagers to feel safe to express themselves and overcome the many obstacles that face them.
Therapists who understand the world of today’s teens can be an invaluable tool in ensuring a clear and healthy mind to make the transition into adulthood. we understand how large and monumental the experiences of a teenager loom. we see the vulnerability and sensitivity while offering opportunities for building the skills needed to overcome the emotional struggles that teens face daily.
Our culturally competent therapists utilize their understandings to meet our teen’s needs based on their specific life circumstances. Each client is unique, especially teenagers. With adulthood, careers, and relationships on the horizon, there are many paths for teenagers and young adults to navigate.
We strive to not pathologize or stigmatize what our teenage clients are experiencing rather, we want to normalize what they are experiencing and view it from a developmental lens. A teenager’s brain is constantly changing with a rapid increase in cognitive functioning. We are here to listen to, learn from, and guide our clients on the journey to be the best versions of themselves.
